Homes for the Holidays

Dawn Pershall128Homes for the Holidays (HFTH) is a way for Warrick Dunn to extend his mother's dream to other single parents working towards first-time homeownership.

Our niche affordable housing program has partnered with Habitat for Humanity, state and city homeownership programs as well as Aarons, Inc. to assist economically-disadvantaged single parent families.

We transform the lives of single parent families by rewarding hard work of individuals who are actively demonstrating a commitment to achieve financial independence and stability through first-time homeownership.

Homes for the Holidays, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity affliates, homeownership programs, National Football League (NFL) teams and corporations to provide down-payment assistance, food and home furnishings complete with appliances, furniture in every room, electronics, home décor, kitchen supplies, linens and lawn equipment to ease the expense of new homeownership. Program support services address nutrition, education and financial literacy.

"There are a few words that come to mind when I think about my family being chosen for Homes for the Holidays- blessed, thankful, overwhelmed, fortunate, grateful and honored."

How Homes for the Holidays recipients are selected:

  • We partner with first-time homebuyer programs;
  • Once a year, nomination forms are sent to these programs so they may nominate single parents who have overcome adversity and who will be ready to move into their first house by our designated dates;

  • The nomination forms are given to Warrick Dunn to review and make his selections;
  • The first-time homebuyer program whose nominee is selected is notified and we work together toward the presentation day and surprise reveal.
